Joshua Bain
F37 Para-Athlete, British Record Holder (Shot Put & Discus), Throws Coach
When I joined Leamington, I was struggling to find a club with the appropriate support to meet my particular needs. I was humbled by how friendly and supportive both the athletes and coaching staff were.
Joshua Bain joined Leamington C&AC in 2023 after moving to the area. A GB and England para-athlete specialising in rotational throws. Joshua has represented his country at the Commonwealth Games and European Championships and currently holds the British records in both shot put and discus.
Since joining the club, Joshua has become Lead Coach for rotational throws and supports the throws strength and conditioning programme — fulfilling a lifelong ambition made possible with the support of Leamington C&AC.
“It has been a lifelong ambition of mine to become a coach, and it would not have been possible without the support from Leamington.”
para-athletics
Leading inclusive athletics in the Midlands
In 2024, Leamington C&AC successfully proposed for Midland Counties AA to introduce scored disability athletics events into the Midlands Senior League — a first for the region.
Since then, multiple clubs across the Midlands have entered disabled athletes into league competition for the first time.

our history
Nearly a Century of Champions
Leamington Cycling & Athletics Club has been at the heart of athletics in Leamington Spa since 1928 — and our roots stretch back to Leamington Harriers in 1868.
In the decades since, LC&AC has produced world record holders, Paralympic Games athletes, Commonwealth Games representatives and national champions. Our Roll of Honour includes more than 20 athletes who have represented England or Great Britain at the highest level.
Among our most celebrated is Cavin Woodward, who in 1976 set three world records in a single day — for 50 miles, 150km and 100 miles. A street in Leamington Spa bears his name. Bob Matthews represented Great Britain at three consecutive Paralympic Games in 1996, 2000 and 2004. Three of our members have won England Athletics National Awards for Official of the Year, Services to Athletics, and Coach of the Year.
